How long does it take to approve my profile?
Profiles are vetted and approved within 24 hours by our human moderation team.

Is my personal information safe?
Yes, personal information you provide is safe and will not be shared with third parties, it is solely used to provide the service we offer to you. We respect your privacy and work hard to meet regulatory requirements. We don’t sell your data to third parties.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), our registration number is ZA332629.

What is a DBS (formerly CRB)? 

A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is a record of an individual’s relevant criminal history and may also contain police intelligence. These checks can include information held on DBS’s children and adults barred list

A DBS check will usually take approximately 8 weeks to complete but in some cases can take up to 16 weeks.

I forgot my password

You can reset your password by clicking on the ‘Lost your password’ link on the login page.

How do I change my contact details?

You can update your contact details by going to your account section and clicking on My Profile.

How do I change my password?

You can change your password by going to your account section and clicking on Change Password.

How can I change my e-mail notifications?

You can manage and amend your email notifications by going to your account section and clicking on My Alerts.

How do I make a payment for platinum membership?

Payment can be made via the membership within your account section.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership by going to your account section, click on membership and then select ‘cancel membership’.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete account by going to your account section and clicking on Delete Account.

Parents

Do I have to register to use Babysitters UK?

Yes, you will need to complete the online registration form.

Do I have to pay the babysitter for travelling time?

You are not expected to pay for a babysitter’s travel or travelling time, however, if it is an evening booking and you arrive back later than agreed it may be difficult for the babysitter to travel home if he/she is reliant on using public transport, therefore, an offer of a cab is advisable.

How do I pay my occasional childcarer/tutor?

You pay directly the childcarer or tutor for the hours they have offered their services and at the rate displayed on their Babysitter UK profile. That can take place either in cash or bank transfer based on a previous agreement with the childcarer/ tutor. Babysitters UK does not charge any booking fees.

What do I do if I can’t see any babysitters/nannies or tutors available in my area?

Babysitters UK strives to register childcarers and tutors all around UK. If you live in a more remote area, we suggest to expand your search to vicinity areas comprising town/city centres for a wider selection of childcarers or tutors.

Vetting candidates

Babysitters UK moderate every profile, however, it is the responsibility of the parent to vet the candidate and ensure all documentation is in order.

What documentation should I ask for in interviews?

We advise to ask for an ID, DBS, references, CV, first aid and all the relevant qualifications to support the position the candidate applies for.

How do I make payment?

You can pay your childcarer or tutor via cash, bank transfer or cheque. It is best to agree a payment method prior to engaging in services.

 

Childcarers and Tutors

Do I have to register to use Babysitters UK?

Yes, you will need to complete the online registration form.

What documentation should I bring to an interview?

We advise you to take your ID, such as a passport, written references, DBS (if you have one) and all relevant qualification certificates

What is a Featured Member?

By becoming a featured member, your profile will be prioritised in searches within proximity to your location, increasing your chances of being shortlisted and getting an interview.

How do I get paid?

It is your responsibility to agree a rate of pay and payment method prior to carrying out your service. Please note; Babysitters UK do not take any commission or booking fees from your income.
